Announcing our newest Feisty Nectar: Vanilla Orange flavored Oat Whiskey
Way back when, before we opened, we did taste tests of some ideas we had. One of which was a vanilla orange infused whiskey and it was voted as the favorite of the bunch.
It took us a bit to long to submit it to the Feds but now, after finally getting their approval, it’s here! Just in time for warming you up on these chilly fall and winter nights.
With a fruit infused (blackberry) and a spice infused (Saigon cinnamon) whiskey already in the Feisty Nectars arsenal, we decided to combine fruit and spice for everything nice.
Starting with a 100 percent oat whiskey, a soft and mellow grain, it has an easy drinking quality that lends itself well to the vanilla bean flavors and aromas. The orange is subtle with a zesty character that adds depth to the warmth of the vanilla. It finishes with a full oat whiskey body.
Try out this recipe for Vanilla Orange Egg Nog, perfect for sipping by the fireplace or for sharing during the holiday season:
Beat egg yolks in the bowl of a stand mixer then gradually add the 1/3 cup of sugar. Continue beating until dissolved. Stir in the milk, cream, Feisty Vanilla-Orange Oat Whiskey, and nutmeg.
Place the egg whites in a separate bowl and beat with a stand mixer until it becomes fluffy. Gradually add the 1 tablespoon of sugar while still beating the mixture.
Whisk the two mixtures together. Chill, serve, and enjoy! This recipe makes six or seven servings so there is plenty to share.
